Literally Changing Lives

Established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency in 1987, Literacy Volunteers of Western Cook County provides free literacy education to adults in suburban Cook County and the Austin neighborhood of Chicago.

Adult Volunteer Literacy Program

We provide free customized tutoring to eligible adult learners in over 30 communities in western Cook County. Volunteer tutors meet with adult learners each week at a public library close to home.
