Personal Tutoring

We provide free customized personal tutoring to eligible adult learners in over 30 communities in western Cook County. Volunteer tutors meet with adult learners each week at a public library close to home.

Small Group Learning

Why study alone? Small groups meet throughout our service area so you can drop-in to a local library and study English as a Second Language, math, and writing.

beginner speakingBeginner English Study Group

If you are just beginning to learn English as a Second Language, attend this group to learn the basics with a focus on low-level listening and speaking.

Saturday mornings

10 am to Noon

There is no formal registration. We will ask you to take a listening and speaking test on your fourth visit. The group is cancelled on most holiday weekends. Please check the calendar to confirm that we are meeting this week.

intermediate englishIntermediate English Study Group 

To practice and perfect your English, attend our intermediate group. We focus on reading and writing in this group, with an emphasis on grammar.

Wednesday evenings

6 to 7:30 pm

Join us at one of two weekly drop-in sessions at the Berwyn Public Library. There is no formal registration and you may start and stop anytime. Instruction is in English only.
